So, as stated in my short post yesterday, things have been crazy. Today has just been completely unfocused for me.
I got an A- on my history final. I was a little disappointed because I feel like I could have done better, but hey, it's still the best I've done all year. I think an A in that class is in sight! I have to worry about some other classes now! We had a band concert last night and I think it went pretty well. Wow, it's hard to believe that I will never play a concert with Harji and Ted again...I don't know how I can even try to take their spot next year. Anyways, I was so happy that Harji recieved the Jazz Award, because he really deserved it. He is amazing at improv. Wow. I hope I can be like that next year. Also, David got a band award. yay. And Kirsten and Phil and Chad and Ted...yay! And of course John Gamble got the biggy...John Philip Sousa Award. Overall, it was a good time. Today was the normal routine. Except that I lost my sweatshirt around 4th hour and 6th hour I got cold and noticed it was gone. So after 6th hour I had to book it to the locker room to get it before it got stolen and then get to environmental science. For all of you that don't know...these places are on polar opposite sides of the school. Needless to say, I was out of breath by the time I barely made it to science. woo. Oh yeah, and during history class I was most unfocused...and Hermansen and I had a discussion about what Marquette should have their mascot be. He is really stuck on the smelt..but hello..that is NOT intimidating! I think the jumping jesuits would be wonderful..haha! How could I forget? This morning was a complete miracle. David was going to pick me up for school at 6:40 am, and I woke up at 6. But...I turned off my alarm and fell asleep until my dad woke me up around 6:30. I got ready in exactly 8 minutes, just in time to open the garage and see him waiting there for me. Wow...shower and all. Yeah, I know. Crazy.. We got to real on time though. Real was great this morning, even though the chapter we went through didn't have too much to talk about. I really like the bonding of our group! I heart Jesus too...yay!! Band class was really fun today because we pretty much hung out and talked. It made me realize how funny some of my guy friends are. Seriously. Except some people should try harder to keep their clothes on...haha Jake.."What is wrong with this picture....?" PLus, we are trying to get Thaldorf to change Jazz I to Varsity Jazz next year. That pretty much rules. But going back to my last entry. I said I'd write about the WEAC interview. That was pretty neat. This guy from WEAC (Wisconsin Educational something something) came to interview Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Nodolf, Anne Kaehny, and I for the Tsunami Relief fundraiser we did. He asked all sorts of questions surrounding how we came up with the idea and asked me why I was so interesting in making sure we could really make a difference. It was cool. He asked how helping come up with this idea and seeing it followed through was really a learning experience and all. It was pretty neat. Then we took a nice picture with bracelets on for the next WEAC issue. I'm really pumped about how much money we are sending to help support the ruined schools in Indonesia. yay. And finally, next week I will be biking every single day (even jazz band days) to school for National Bike to School or Work Week. I encourage all of you out there to join me...it's going to be quite a good time! Also, you have a chance to win some reallly neat prizes if that is your motivation! Have a great night. Tomorrow should be great, since it is Friday and all! David and I are going out too, and I'm pumped. Also, improvedy maybe! yay! My spiritual birthday is on Saturday! bye! Lauren |
